
Postal Life Insurance (PLI) is an Insurance Policy which fully owned by central government of India and managed by Department of Post. If you have PLI or RPLI policy you can pay your premium through online. Simply follow three Procedures to Pay PLI premium through online.
- Update Mobile Number & Email ID to the Policy.
- Apply for User ID and Password.
- Log In & Pay your Premium Online.
If you want to pay PLI premium online you need to update your mobile number and email ID to your policy.
- How to update mobile number & email ID to your policy?
If you have a Postal Life Insurance or Rural Postal Life Insurance policy make sure that you have update your mobile number and email ID to your policy. If you have not updated yet you can follow this procedure to update this.
- Write an application to the concern Postmaster (Head Office) by mentioning
- Policy Number
- Name
- Sum Assured
- Premium
- Premium Frequency
- Date of Acceptance
- Mobile Number
- Email ID
- Fill the entire field in upper case or Capital Letter only.
- And send this application to your concern Head Post Master along with
- Application Form/Letter.
- Xerox copy of Premium Passbook front page and last updated page.
- Xerox copy of Policy Bond.
- One ID Proof (Voter/Aadhhar/PAN/Driving License etc. Recommended Aadhaar Card)

After successful application you have to wait minimum 15th days to get email or mobile confirmation that your mobile number and email ID is updated. Now your policy is ready to get User ID and Password.

- How to Apply for User ID and Password?
When your policy has up to date with mobile number and email ID, then you can apply for User ID & Password by following the procedures.
Procedure to Follow
- Go to https://pli.indiapost.gov.in/CustomerPortal/mLogin.jsp for mobile user or https://pli.indiapost.gov.in/CustomerPortal/Home.action for desktop user.
- Find out “Login” button in top right corner of the screen and click on this.
- Next you need to select “Generate Customer ID” in left below corner.
- Fill all the details according to your policy bond. Enter
- Policy Number
- Sum Assured
- Insured First Name
- Date of Birth
- Select Gender
- Mobile number
- eMail ID
- Enter Captcha.
- And Click “Submit” Button.

Your policy online registration has been completed. After successful registration you need to wait 24 hours to get your Customer ID. When you get user ID via mail you need to follow the link to generate Password for online access. Now you are eligible to pay PLI/RPLI premium online.

How to Log In & Pay your Premium Online?
After getting User ID & Password you need to Login in PLI Customer portal by using your login credential to access and pay your premium online.
Procedure to Follow
- Go to https://pli.indiapost.gov.in/CustomerPortal/mLogin.jsp for mobile user or https://pli.indiapost.gov.in/CustomerPortal/Home.action for desktop user.
- Enter User ID & Password.
- Fill Captcha
- Click on “Login” Button.
- In this window you need to Click on “Payments”
- Click on Policy Number.
- Select “Number of Installment Premiums”
- Click on “Confirmed Payment”
- In next window select bank option
- Enter Card Details
- Verify by OTP
Your payment has been successful. After successful payments you will get a confirmation email and mobile alert by India Post.
By following the above procedure you can Pay PLI Premium through Online.
