The selected Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS will perform their duty in the rural post offices. There are mainly two posts in branch office one of Branch Post Master (BPM) and another is Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM). There is also a post namely Dak Sevak (DS) who will engage in urban post offices of departmental post offices to assist the work of post office.
The Selected candidates will get pay 10,000/- and 12,000/- as per GDS Pay Committee 2016. wages scale 1 & 2 with the admissible allowance from time to time. Pay Scale for Declared Post:-
This is the Recommended Pay by GDS Pay Committee 2016. This will admissible after implementation of GDS Pay Committee.
- Assistant Branch Postmaster/Dak Sevak Level 1, 10000-24470
- Branch Postmaster Level 1, 12000-29380
This level 1 pay will applicable in a matrix of GDS 7th CPC pay scale with admissible allowance as prescribe from time to time.
i.e. If someone selected for this post then a BPM will be paid basic 12,000/-+DA(12%) 1440=13,440/- (w.e.f 01.01.2019) and a Dak Sevak/ABPM will be paid of basic Rs. 10,000/-+DA(12%) 1200=11,200/- (w.e.f 01.01.2019)
The minimum and maximum age for the purpose of engagement to Gramin Dak Sevaks posts shall be between 18 and 40 years as on 25.04.2018. The maximum age shall be relaxableby 03 (three) years to those belonging to OBC categories and 05 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST. [10 years for PH above the respective category]
The educational qualification is matriculation or ITI from a recognized board or university. The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute.

Selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications. No weight age will be given for higher educational qualification. Only marks obtained in 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection.

Applicant of category OC/OBC Male should pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred) for each set of five options. Candidate who requires to make the payment has to visit any identified Post Offices in the circle where online notification is current to make the payment. Furnishing of Security:-
The candidate applying for the post shall note that he/she shall furnish security amount of Rs. 25,000/- in the event of his/her engagement for the post of BPM and Rs. 10,000/- for other categories. The security shall be in the form of Fidelity Guarantee bond or National Savings Certificate pledged to the Department of Posts in the name of the President of India.
