GDS Indefinite Strike will Continue on 24.05.2018

All the Gramin Dak Sevak of India Post is in “Indefinite strike” from 22.05.2018 with a only one demand “Immediate Implementations of Positive Recommendation of Kamalesh Chandra Committee” but Government has no intention to Implement it early. The rock like unity of the GDS has compelled the Department to hold three round discussions with the striking GDS union on 18th, 21st & 22nd May 2018 but it failed. So, The Unions (AIPEUGDS, AIGDSU, NUGDS, BEDEU & AIPEU POSTMEN-MTS) & S/G, NFPE & S/G, BPEF) decide to GDS Indefinite Strike will Continue on 24.05.2018.

“Here is an important information “National Union (FNPO) withdraw their strike notice (POSTMEN-MTS Union), only GDS union are in Strike”

The Secretary, Department of Posts, Director General, Posts, Addl. DG Posts and other senior officers were present. Yesterday the Regional Labour Commissioner called for conciliatory meeting and all the unions attended the meeting. Senior Officers of the department were also present but at the end of the meeting No Assurance Has been given by Govt side.

Tomorrow 24.05.2018, a meeting will be held in the presence of  the Regional Labour Commissioner, hope a positive response will come in this meeting. Today a cabinet meeting was hold but GDS issue was not included as agenda item in cabinet meeting. Be aware and “get ready for long fight, overcome all the weakness in movement” said S.S.Mahadevaiah General Secretary, A.I.G.D.S.U.

Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) has no way to achieve their long pending demand. Here why government don’t interest to implement the GDS Committee Report 2016 as a early moment?

“The Issue submitted by the union is under active consideration of the department. Moreover at a time when the department  is going through a complete IT makeover such agitation will only allow strengthen the hand of our competitor which agreeable is not  overall interest of the postal department”

will you agree that? There is inordinate delay in implementation of the recommendations of the GDS committee, the GDS staff are eagerly waiting for their wage revision and improvement in other service conditions.

Now, the department is going under technological change “its good” but RICT is being implemented in all BOs for which the GDS staff has to work more than required. The business of IPPB will also depend mainly on the GDS employees. Kamalesh Chandra Committee has submitted its report accordingly. As the benefit of 7th CPC has already been given to Departmental employees, GDS employees are also waiting for since long time.

Now the question is when GDS employee will play vital role, when All the scheme will depend on GDS employee then which one is first to do “IT Modernization Project” or Revision of GDS Pay and service condition”? GDS Indefinite Strike will Continue on 24.05.2018 and after that day if government no take it seriously.
